About Schedule 1-A Tools
Schedule 1-A Tools exists for one reason: the new deductions for tips, overtime, car-loan interest, and seniors are useful, badly explained almost everywhere, and easy to get wrong.
What the site does
It provides a small set of free, single-purpose tools — a W-2 Box 12 code checker, tips and overtime calculators, and a Schedule 1-A helper — plus a page for each of the 71 occupations on the IRS tipped-occupation list. Every number a tool produces can be traced to the IRS document it came from.
How the tools are verified
Rules are taken only from primary IRS sources — fact sheets, the final Schedule 1-A form and instructions, and official occupation lists — never from other blogs or calculators. The worked examples published by the IRS are turned into automated tests that the code must pass. The full method, the source list, and a public log of every correction are on the Accuracy & Sources page.
Who it is for
Tipped and hourly workers checking a W-2 or estimating a deduction, employers and payroll staff verifying Box 12 codes, and anyone preparing a 2025–2028 return who wants the rule and the number in one place.

Corrections
When we find an error — or a reader does — we fix it and record it in the corrections log on the Accuracy page, with the date and what changed. The site is operated by an independent publisher; it is not affiliated with the IRS or any government agency (see the Disclaimer).
